MentorPRO Partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County

MentorPRO announces a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County (BBBSOC) to launch a grant-funded Workplace Mentoring initiative serving college-age mentees across Orange County and the Inland Empire. The collaboration pairs BBBSOC’s deep relationship-building expertise with MentorPRO’s evidence-based platform to bring structure, visibility, and outcome tracking to workplace mentoring at scale.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County is doing remarkable work to extend mentoring beyond childhood and into the workforce, where young people most need a trusted guide. We are proud to support a team that is so thoughtful about evaluation and so committed to translating high-quality mentoring into meaningful career outcomes,” said Jean Rhodes, PhD, Co-founder of MentorPRO.

Workplace Mentoring brings adult professionals together with college students navigating the transition from school to career. Through MentorPRO, BBBSOC and its evaluation partners at California State University, Fullerton can monitor match health, track engagement, surface goals, and measure outcomes in real time. The platform’s automated alerts help staff intervene early when a match needs support, while keeping mentors and mentees connected through a mobile-first experience. BBBSOC staff will also be able to identify promising practices across workplace sites and share them back with employers and funders.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to evidence-based practice, supported by peer-reviewed research linking structured mentoring with stronger sense of belonging, academic and career persistence, and improved mental health and well-being. The partnership positions workplace mentoring as a strategic tool for both talent development and equity in access to professional networks.
