MentorPRO Announces an Expanded Partnership with Araminta

MentorPRO today announced an expanded partnership with Araminta, the Baltimore-based nonprofit working to end child sex trafficking through prevention, education, and restorative care for survivors. With new grant funding, Araminta is deepening its investment in MentorPRO Academy to train and certify the volunteer mentors who walk alongside survivors and at-risk youth.

“Araminta’s mentors take on some of the most demanding and most important relationship work in the field, and they deserve preparation that matches the gravity of that calling. We are honored that Araminta has chosen MentorPRO Academy to train the people their young people count on,” said Jean Rhodes, PhD, Co-founder of MentorPRO and Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring at UMass Boston.

The expansion provides SuperReady to Mentor certifications and self-paced Mentoring for Youth Mental Health courses for Araminta’s volunteer corps, building on training the organization’s mentors have completed through the Academy since the partnership began. The grant-funded investment reflects Araminta’s commitment to trauma-informed, evidence-based mentor preparation.

MentorPRO Academy’s curriculum is developed under the direction of Dr. Jean Rhodes at the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring at UMass Boston, grounded in decades of peer-reviewed mentoring research.
