Boston MA – February 27, 2026 – MentorPRO is proud to share that Dr. Jean Rhodes—Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring and MentorPRO co-founder—will present at UMass Innovates: Advancing Research, Teaching, and Learning Through AI and Other Technologies on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Her session, “Mentoring in the Age of AI: Augmenting Human Relationships with Human-at-the-Helm Technology,” will spotlight a timely and urgent question: How can we responsibly use artificial intelligence to expand access to mentoring, without losing the human connection that makes mentoring so powerful?

MentorAI: An Evidence-Based Tool Built for Mentors

At the center of the presentation is MentorAI, a powerful feature within the MentorPRO platform designed specifically to support mentors in their day-to-day work with mentees.

MentorAI is not a chatbot replacing human interaction. It is a research-informed support tool that helps mentors apply proven best practices in real time.

Built on more than 30 years of mentoring research, MentorAI translates evidence into actionable guidance. It equips mentors with timely insights, conversation strategies, and practical recommendations that strengthen relationship quality and promote positive outcomes for mentees.

With MentorAI, mentors can:

  • Receive real-time, evidence-based suggestions tailored to their mentee’s needs

  • Access research-backed strategies to navigate common mentoring challenges

  • Identify when additional support or intervention may be beneficial

  • Strengthen trust, communication, and goal-setting within the relationship

  • Feel more confident and prepared in each mentoring interaction

By grounding every recommendation in decades of mentoring science, MentorAI ensures that mentors are not guessing, but rather applying what works.

Human-at-the-Helm Technology

Dr. Rhodes’ presentation will demonstrate how MentorAI embodies a “human-at-the-helm” approach to AI. The technology supports mentors, but mentors remain firmly in control. Every insight is designed to enhance, and not replace, the empathy, judgment, and authenticity that define effective mentoring.

As mentoring programs grow and mentee needs become more complex, mentors deserve tools that are as thoughtful and evidence-based as the relationships they are building. MentorAI delivers exactly that: scalable, research-driven support that keeps human connection front and center.
